PROLOGUE

“No one could have predicted this would happen, guys.” Jhonny Wright said, looking at the disappointed faces of his group. The group, as they weren’t his anymore.  “But at least you still can win.”

“How?” The youngest singer, the blonde wonder, asked. “If you leave us…”

“If I stay, he will have reasons to say he formed the group. Without me and the team he formed, you have a chance. He won’t get a penny from you.”

“But we trust you, Jhonny.” Behind glasses, dark eyes pleaded. And Jhonny almost gave in.

“This guy is trustworthy, even when he’s a little young. He was cheated once, and he won’t let  this happen to you again.”

“But the steps, and the songs…” The alto voice that most fans didn’t always hear rose in the room. “Everyone is leaving us, and …”

“We… Your new manager is already looking into that. You’ll be fine.”

“We’re going to miss you all.” The slight accent betrayed the feelings of the speaker, whose face was impassible. “You…”

“You’ll be in touch, right, Jhonny?” Clear green eyes meet his, and Jhonny nodded, not wanting to drag the farewell any more. He simply slipped a card in the oldest member’ hand, a card with the name and phone of their new manager, and left the room.
